Repair Seat Foam

My 84 Camaro driver's side seat needs some foam repair; what is the best way to fix? I went to a car upholstery shop today to get prices on fixing the seat and covering both the front and rear seats! $1250.00 is what the guy said; I almost had to go to the emergency room. Any ideas on the best solution?

The best way to fix it is to get all new foam for the driver's seat. Try these guys, you'll have to call them to find out if they have seat foam for your car: CLICK HERE The price depends on what fabric you want and what work needs to be done to the the seats. If all the seat foam for all the seats is being replaced, the price may get up a lot higher than that. The price they quoted is reasonable for the buckets and rear seats. That's only $300 a seat, check and see what just new seat covers would cost. In a cheap grade of vinyl, they are around $600.

seat foam

I belive these front buckets are the same. Sometimes you can go to the salvage yard and find a passenger side seat that in good shape and maybe even have the correct color and just switch things around. I havn't bought any replacement cushions for awhile but with the price of foam these days I'm sure it's crazy high. I think that price was cheap.

seat foam????

HI,i went to the local u-pull-it,and bought 2 front buckets for my 87 firebird. cost was $25.00 apiece, beautiful, and the color was the same as the old ones. (maroon) unless youre doing a custom interior, this is the cheap way to go. also you can buy seatcovers (vinyl) from JC Whitney, decent for the money,
