replace 3 speed

i have a 63 fairlane, with a 302, 6 bolt pattern trans. mount. with 3 speed top loader. it sucks. i would like to put in a 5 speed. will a tremec bolt right in? what about shifter location? i have bench seats. does anyone know what all i will have to do, or where to start?

Im not gonna be much help on this one, maybe try the guys in the Transmission forum. Also do some searchs on yahoo, thats where i get lots of my info (besides the site knowledge base.

Im sorry man, i wish i could give you an answer but i cant bro :( Have you tried doing searches for Fairlane boards on yahoo or something like that? Maybe you can find something there.
