Replace Powerglide With 2004r

My Wife And I Are Rebuilding Her High School Car. It Was A 1961 Chevy Bubble Top With A 348. We Are Trying To Find Out How To Replace The Powerglide With A 2004r.

The old iron Powerglides had a 10 spline yoke so you will need a late model yoke(fine spline) It may be easier to change to a floor shift also since the detents in your column shifter will be one short of what you need.You may have to relocate the transmission crossmember but usually a little drilling will take care of that.Also try to get all the linkage from your donor car for the throttle and kickdown.
