Replace Rubber Flex lines on not
I'm installing a 2001 Chevy S10 Blazer Disc brake rearend that has two rubber brake lines, one for each side. Both lines are in excellent condition no cracks or rub marks, should I replace them now? I would like to replace them but all the replacements are Chinese and I've had some bad experiences with Chinese brake parts, had 2 new Oreillys rear wheel cylinders fail within a month and one brake light switch leak.
Should I keep the original USA lines or use the Chinese?
I bought stainless braided replacements from Summit.
Check these out.
Not sure if they´ll fit your year though.
for me, i'd be keeping the orig as long as they are good cond.. as u mentioned u have an '01 chebby.. have u ck'd the brake tubing from the m/c that run along the top of frame ???? your in a good yr that chebby had major rusting of bk lines..'99-'07
Not that I like using chinese made junk but I have used parts store replacement hoses on a few different occasions now without an issue. In some cases thats all you can get anymore if the oem parts are not available or prohibitively expensive.
if the original hoses arnt swelling/soft/mushy/dry rotted and the end fittings if there steel instead of brass arnt rotten/rusty and ready to crumble apart (had a few hoses fail that way) I'd reuse them.
