Replacement shock absorbers for 88 Oldsmobile.

I am helping my brother get his 1957 Olds 88 back on the road and we are in the process of replacing the front shock absorbers. I have been to all our local automotive shops and none of them have a listing or can find anything to replace the old shocks. They dont seem to be anything out of the ordinary so I cant understand why it should be so difficult. Does anybody have a make and part number of some shocks we can use? It's only the fronts we are after at the moment. Cheers.

Happy Halloween
