replacing a 727 trann

Hello,

Am i able to install a 700r4 behind a 408 stroker motor? They seem to be a lot easier to find than a a518. Do I just need an adapter or is it a lot of modding?

TY.

You could swap but why replace a bulletproof 727 with a grenade like a 700R4.

Hahahaha. I was just asking if it's possible. I am looking for a A518 but they are rare down here in SoCal.

I really want the overdrive.

If the A518 is hard to find, the 46RE should be more plentiful, and can be converted to non-computer controlled (46RH) with a valve body swap and governor install. I did it a few years back with parts from SMR transmissions in Canada. I have seen a few posts where people have used pressure valves to control the lock up and OD application - I turn the OD on with a switch on the shifter.
