Post Replacing Borg Warner T10 with Richmond 6 speed

ok............new here so if I am out of place let me know.....

I have a 67 GTO all chevy underneath 454 rat, borg warner super T10, 12 bolt chevy rear end...
I want to replace the tranny with a richmond 6 speed.......

Do any of you gentlemen have some insight into whether or not everything for the most part will fit...i.e.

rear spline for yolk?
length? (drive shaft mod)
shifter? (will it fall out in same place)
cross memeber? (any mods needed here)

I have spent a lot of time working on this car and because it is a hybrid, always have to match parts from chevelle to GTO....so a challenge is not a problem, just looking for some insight.

you can check her out at www.rascals.com

bought it 27 years ago

I don't know the dimensions of a S T-10, but my uncle just put a richmond 6 in his ride. He swaped it out an M-21 so it could sit on the self. The yolk is the same a T400, and he did have to send the drive line out to get shortened. He was telling me that he only had to longate the holes for the crossmember. From what I've heard, even if there is a lot more fabrication needed that what I stated, the driveability is worth it. He gained 5 mpg on the highway...

$3700? wow, that is an eye-opener! I have a pontiac engine. can i use a 6 speed from a newer firebird? i know these are chevy engines (lt-and ls-1's) but i can get an adapter. correct me if i'm wrong about needing an adapter.

beazil, what do you think your goat is worth now all bastardized? just for comparison, i saw a real nice original 67 last week at a reno auction that sold for 21,200. these cars were not going cheap either. reserves on everything. lots of hot 55 chevys were bid at 25K and they were NOT sold. a 64 goat original paint and all sold for 30K. i have a 2speed tranny, what you doing with that t-10?
not complaining, i'd love nothin better than a rat under my hood
