Replacing Steering Wheel

I can't remember, which way do you turn the large nut that holds
the steerig wheel to the shaft ? Clockwise or counter clockwise


Must be getting that oldtimers desease.

That saying never made any since to me. When you go full circle counter clockwise the top of the nut or bolt is going left but the bottom is going right.
