Post Residual Pressure Valve??

I have a front disc and rear drum brake setup. Pedal was low and mushy, master cylinder under floor, so I put in new master cylinder ( larger capacity) and I am installing a 2 LB residual valve in line between master cylinder and proportioning valve. In rear lines I am installing 10 LB residual valve between master cylinder and proportioning valve. Is this correct place or should it be AFTER the proportioning valve?? I called ECI and tech man said " Install as close to master cylinder as possible" I am wondering if installing before proportioning valve will that location cause a malfunction of that valve?? Any expirence either way?? DAVE SHANK

Post re: Residual Pressure Valve??

the valve will work fine the residual valve must be placed as close to the master as possible, the old masters has a residual valve in them, now they use external type.
