ressidual valve location ???

I want to check the residual valves on a '67 Olds Toro. It is an all drum system, master cylinder apppears to be the same as my '69 Cutlass with drums. Problem : my 'book' say the residual valve, or check valves are located it the outlet ports of the M C . I removeed an outlet fitting ( the part the flared brake line fits over ) and nothing in there....A retired auto instructor told me it was located inside, at the end of main valve body, while my manuals say they should be under the fittings.................so where are they ???????thanks

Generally they are in the M/C in the area the lines connect. Sometimes they simply weren't used. You just might not have any.

I installed the new MC , bled the vbrakes, and road tested it. The brakes now working perfectly ! Seems as though, when 'they' rebuild these MC, some get the check valve and some don't ! I guess it's just ''buyer beware !""

Some of the history's best predictions were made by idiots rambling impossible results the other 99.9% of the time. I get one right every once in a while...
