Hi everyone I'm new at this so you might notice.
I would like to install a ZF 6-speed in a 56 Chevy and keep the original Bench seat. My problem might be where the shifter is located. I haven't tryed yet but looking for the pitfalls before I start. I was told that I would have a better chance putting the ZF in than a Borg Warner since the Borg Warner is a toploader and looks like it would come up under the seat the ZF isn't so maybe could be adapted. Thanks for any help |

I'm not familiar with the trans but i've got a super t-10 in a 55 with a bench. I went with a hurst compition plus linkage with the "C" shifter to get around the bench. Hope you alredy have the clutch arm in. Then you'll need to match the front splines on the tranny to a clutch disc, then check the legnth of the tranny to see if you need to rework the drive shaft. One other thing, match the front yoke of the drive shaft to the rear splines on the trans. Thats about all I know.
