Rev limiter

There are some boxes with several rev limiters. The first one is red line limiter. You set it to the max you want your motor to RPM. When it hits that RPM it starts shutting down spark plugs.

The 6AL for example is analog and will shut down the same plugs. The Digital 6 Plus is digital and randomly shuts down different plugs. This is much easier on the engine.

Additional rev limiters can be used on the tranny brake and line lock.

The advantage on a street car is you don't grenade the motor over revving it and at low rpm the ignition box sends up to six sparks to the plug instead of just one.

That way if you miss a shift or break the rear end, the motor won't blow up before you get off the gas.
