REV LIMITER? Where is it?

I have a 1967 Dodge coronet, with a 5.7 L Hemi Crate motor. It has a 4 grand rev limiter on it, I would like to remove/adjust it to get more out of the motor. Does anyone have any idea, how to do this? Thanks for all the information. Marc

Does it have a computer hooked up to it/ Or did it come with one? have you added a on board system to run things?

My '04 Dodge Ram pickup with the 5.7L Hemi engine has a 4k rpm rev limiter in park. In gear, the engine is limited to 6k rpms.

Maybe the brain of the engine thinks the vehicle is in park.

yes you need to supply the ECM with a trans signal. OR get ECM tuning to disable this "feature".

The motor was a crate motor, and the computer was supplied separate. In park it does rev limit at 4K, but also good to know that the rev changes in drive. This might be a stupid querstion but is there some place that I could take the car to have this removed....any suggestions? Marc

I take it the engine was already in the car before you got it right . You know while we are at it. Hummmm!!!!! You need to post some pics for us.

I am reluctant to say it but, yes, the motor was in the car when I got it. The car has new red paint with white top. The motor and dash are from a dodge pickup. It looks pretty cool with the updated interior. I just have some fine tuning to do to it. I will try and get some pics taken, but it does sound pretty mean when it runs I have to admit. Mrc
