The edelbrock has needle and jet kits for that. There should be a book that comes with them with a chart to fix that problem.

750 too big
I had an 850 on a 350HP and at freeway speeds if u floored it I got gray smoke [blowing gas through without burning it]. Also called washing the cylinders. If I kept this up, I would have eatten the cylinders out quick.
Changed to a 600CFM and it ran better and stopped washing and running rich at idle. If you can do it with jets, good. That is just a lot of carb for your engine. |

Did u adjust the idle mixture screws. If u did not thats why is so rich. i bought an edelbrock 750 and it was really rich out of the box. In fact it burned my eyes too in the garage idling. Until i got the mixtures screws adjusted perfectly with a vacumm guage. If the idle screws are adjusted correctly. then check your color step up springs. they should be orange color out of the box if u did not change it.
