Ride height opinions.

Here are some new Pics of my 52/50 Studebaker Commander.
Looking for opinions as far as the ride height. in the rear mainly, It isn't fully loaded yet meaning no gas tank no nothing in the rear but the thing is all my adjustment is up from this point.
Don't know how much it is going to settle by the time I'm done. I have coil over shocks in the rear on a slight angle 15 Deg. +- and 220# springs.

To me it looks slightly high (dangit) .

I take it the coil overs aren't adjustable for ride height?

It looks a little high compared to the "in the weeds" look that many rods sport. I'd say you can go a little lower w/o sacrificing ride quality, but it's a fine line. But I would be concerned the ride every bit as much as the looks, if you plan on actually driving it.

Without going to bags or hydraulics, there has to be a compromise. Using springs, you can go low- but it's going to be STIFF or it'll bottom out. Neither of which I care for at all.

I'd see what it looked like fully loaded (sand bags work for a mock up) before changing anything.

Great project! Yup, wait til it's loaded. Personally, after driving a lowered Dakota for 10 years, I'd finally had enough of the "for cr@p" ride and put 'er back up. My back couldn't take the jolts any more...

Couldn't agree more. In my teens/twenties I rode a hardtail for 8 years straight- didn't even own a 4-wheeler. Liked to have ruined my spine, but at the time I was able to ignore it. Now, not so much...:pain:

It sits a little high but get the weight on it before changing anything.

Dean,I saw the fender vent and said to myself now that is going to be too kewl.Got a soft spot for Studes.LOL,just how do you end up with that clean of a shop??.

I think it sits nice as is....never went for this "in the weeds" crap

Put everything on it (window glass is heavy) and see how it sits then.....might want to raise it a tad then

I like about 6 inches on a street car..Speed bumps and drive way angles you know..In the weeds looks kewl but dragging your bottom is not a fun thing...

Thanks guys I'm going to try sand bagging it after i estimate the weight and see how it settles.
Gary l only took pictures of the clean spots! Haha. Its winter so i have three dogs staying in there and it gets hosed out regularly.

Thanks again guys!
