The right compressor for me?

Hey guys,

After reading all of the posts on what compressor to get I think I have finally made my decision. Below is the link. I will be using it to paint one or two cars a year and general shop air tools. I want to get the right compressor first and not secon guess and get the wrong thing. I know I want a belt driven unit with high CFM and I think this will work. i just don't want it to stop during my painting. What do you think? If not what do you recommend under $500.00 or $600.00 or less.

Thanks Dave

Which compressor is the best??

I might be wrong about this but isn't the duel stage two cylinder compressor the best for painting...it also has a lot to do with the gun your using...some guns require higher air pressure and use up air faster than others so a combo of a good gun and a good compressor is important to continuous painting without stopping to wait for your compressor to recover.

I was in the same boat, ended up spending closer to a grand on a belair 80 gallon 5hp two stage compressor and I am glad I did..

I have a friend with that compressor, it is "ok"

he painted his car with it but ya gotta wait a lot..

EDIT:

nevermind different compressor.

really depends on your gun you are using. an hvlp gun can use anywhere from 6 cfm to 17cfm. if that compressor you want puts out 11 then you need to see what gun your going to use and what the requirements are, then i think you will be able to answer your own question. i use mine for spraying and alot of airtools too and find that sometimes i can max it out and its a 7.5hp ingersol rand thats rated at 26cfm.
