Rightsizing rear end for 36 Ford Coupe...

I'm planning to power a 36 Ford Coupe with either a preferred 302 Ford or a more likely more economical 350 Chevy engine with 360-400 hp. Also plan on an automatic transmission and would like to go with an overdrive.
Question: What rearend ratio will give me an some economy without sacrificing on ability to get it on occasionally?

Personally I would suggest a 3.73:1 with overdrive or a 3.55:1 without for your application.
