Former president Clinton in an interview years ago said that one of his proudest moments of playing the sax was being able to play "Take Five".

5 count beat

A guy I worked with had a part time band, He said that formally trained musicians had a hard time playing Brubeck's music, they were trained on either 3 or 4 beats to a measure, Brubeck's jazz was 5 beats and the formal musicians brains couldn't grasp 5 beats.

Dave Brubeck was a musical genius and will be missed by everyone who enjoyed good jazz.

I know he had a few sons who were also into jazz and I think were also part of his band at one point.

He lived for many years in Westport, Connecticut.

Another legend in the music business that will surly be missed.

Talk about a true pioneer - - - - he knocked down all the barriers and put Jazz Music on Top 40 Radio stations everywhere. Desmond had the chops and Dave had the concept.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Jazzman

P.S. I've heard Clinton blow and I doubt very seriously he ever mastered Take Five.

Maybe it was Monica's blow that mastered Take five?

I used to play sax and I played Take Five - don't know if I can say I 'mastered' it. Never played it in a group for an audience.

Tonight's Grammys got me thinking of "Take 5" again.
