rlackey back online!

Hey Guys!

I'm back, and boy have I missed HR.com! I have now finally moved to Pretoria from Cape Town but have yet to really settle in to my new place, and am now on the lookout for work.

The Chevy is on it's way up here on a big carrier truck, and believe it or not I drove my '61 VW Beetle the whole 1400kms north. The first day of the drive was very slow, I left Cape Town at 5am, but a bad fuel pump and coil left me stranded every 20km's for the first 400kms or so.

When I couldn't take it anymore (it would have taken me a week to make the trip) I pulled into a little town called Laingsburg in the Karoo, found a mechanic and had a electric fuel pump installed. This helped, but I was still having ignition problems, especially with the engine hot.

By sunset I made it to a slightly bigger town called Beaufort West where I found a bed and breakfast, slept and bought a new high temp coil first thing in the morning. This did the trick! I had no problems for the remaining 1000km's which I managed to drive that same day from about 11am to 11pm.

So now I'm in my new apartment, my furniture and boxes all arrived on a big truck yesterday, and all I have to do is unpack. I don't have a phone line yet, so I have to go to a local cafe with wireless internet to get online and finally check out HR.com!

I may still not be able to log on every day until I have my own phone line put in, but I wanted to check back in, say hi, and say that for the most part I'm back now. So Jon, I still want to be a mod, guess I'll have to put in a lot more hours online to make up for the past two months of absence.

I have cool pictures to post, so I'll upload those as soon as I get them off the camera.

Oh... and I have a double garage! with lighting inside! , so I can work on the Chevy out of the weather and at night! (insert smiley jumping up and down ecstatically here)!!!

So I've missed you all. Now I guess I should read up two months worth of posts and journal entries!

Rich

Glad to have ya back, not much has happened in the mean time. We had a bunch of religious and politics filled threads, CGG Elky and Wakbrd are in full swing with the new Virtual Kumstomz thread, Ghetto sold his Caprice and did a bunch of dumb crap that could've gotten him seriously injured and possible in jail, I bought an old Dodge truck (see gallery), and there was a "where is rlackey?" thread.
