Talking rochester 2gc in 3.8 buick

hi , i have a 3.8 buick engine in my 81 olds cutlass 2 door rear wheel drive and Th-350, with a bad 2bbl with metering rod carb, i want replace this one with a 305 2gc/gv carb, is this a good upgrade? i want good trootle response and top end speed, a few hp more.
PD: forget all emission and vaccum valve sistem

I am guessing you have the "dualjet" carb on your 3.8 now. I don't see any "upgrade" possibilities in this swap except you will have an experience with adapters and tuning. If the 2gc/gv carb doesn't need rebuilt go for it but I wouldn't expect any gains worth mentioning. And you are thinking about using a carb with jetting for something with 74 more cubic inches, I wouldn't expect any better response or power as an engine only flows and makes power as a complete system will allow. <img src="graemlins/pain.gif" border="0" alt="[pain]" />
