Post Rochester Quadrajet Carb ID?

I just bought a 350 4 bolt 350. Block #14016379. Mortec.com says its a 77-79 350 2 or 4 bolt mains. It has a Quadrajet on it. However, I cannot ID it, even with the help from their website. This is the serial # on the carb secondary.

7043 08 QC
0383

According to their website, the 70 means its a Rochester. The 4 is for 70-76 I believe. The 3 is for the year (73). The 0 is a 49 state mono-jet. The 8 is for a Non-GM. Do you now see my delema. The QC is for the assembly plant. Where is QC. Can anyone help me please. Or give me a good website. The serial # is supposed to be 7 digits long. Mine is only 6. Need help, Bill

Good sites for you, # should be verticly written on driver side secondary but on the outer body of the carb there will be a flat pad there. they might not tell you exactly the type but can get year and devision.

Thanks for your help guys. I just went out to the garage and double checked. There was a 2 hidden in the dirt that I didn't catch the first time. Serial # is 7043208. Thanks again for all of your help. Bill
