rocker oiling problem chev 235
Helping my brother work on his recently purchased 58 pick up. He wants to keep the six running, at least for a while. Oil to the rockers is almost none. I remember, as a very young lad, one of my Dad's friends installing what he called an external oiling system. It seems like I remember a small tube being installed from the side cover & up the outside to the plug in side of the head. Could this memory be correct or is it more likely the added tube came around the engine and into the hole in the head. Any info will be appreciated.

I have a 235 in my 51 and during my research I did read that alot of times the oil tube to the rockers would get plugged or clogged and an old time fix was to run a new tube direct to the top of the head and direct it onto the rockers. It has been done, but I don't know exactly how to tell you to proceed.........
