That's a good description.
If the seal lip is bad, then that piece it is spotwelded to is likey real bad. Just look at that area from underneath to see if it's all swelled up or full of holes.
The FULL repro rocker is OK, the fit is pretty good except that seal lip area is bowed up a little. You need to keep trying door fit as you tack weld, because you don't want the door to scrape on the top of the rocker.
The repro backside piece is a challenge to make it fit. I make my own on a brake.
