Rocker Panel Replacement

i need to replace the rockers and sills on my '47 plymouth 4dr. i've ordered some custom panels as a rocker and sill all in one piece. i am going to buttweld the rocker panel to the body but what should i do where the sill goes to the door pillars? i wanted to butt-weld those too, but this is my first attempt at replacing rockers and because my car is a 4dr i've got 3 pillars to join to. i don't really want to overlap anything on the sills because i'm worried about moisture getting trapped and i want a nice clean finish. any ideas?

or if anyone can give me any pointers as to what NOT to do would be appreciated.

thanks,

JB

I would not do simple butt welds. The pieces that you are replacing are structural and safety items. You should atleast use backers and plug weld them in place.
