Rockers

Will Chev 1:6 stamped steel self aligning rockers for Vortec heads work on older heads with non self aligned heads?

Yeah, they will. You just want to make sure you have pushrod clearance at the hole/slot where the pushrod comes up through the head. You can't have both systems at work or you'll experience bind. You also want to make sure you have enough valve tip coming up past the retainer so that the rocker isn't riding on the retainer.
