Rod bearing and journal (pics)
 

How does this rod bearing and journal look? Just starting to strip-down a motor I recently acquired, but not sure exactly what I'm looking for when inspecting the bearings.

Looks normal to me. Engine has a few hundred miles. And I would say the first owner changed the oil and took care of the engine. The true test will be in the micrometer readings.

Definately has a few miles on it but it looks like its a good builder.

The more important bearing is the one in the rod not the bearing in the cap of the rod.

That looks all good. No wear marks on the journal. But as said here before, they need to be checked for size and out of round.
