Rod bolts SBF

I'm building a 351C motor I had the block boiled out ,new cam bearings and brass freeze plugs. Had the cyls honed out and the crank polished and mic'ed. I bought new rod bolts online and had planed on driving the old ones out and installing the new ones. A mechanic friend told me if I changed the rod bolts I would have to have the rods "resized". Is he correct I've never heard of this. Thanks Karl

re: Rod bolts SBF

OK.....this forum is for Site Suggestions and Site Help...........Your question really should have been posted over in the Engine forum. But since you are here , I will answer it for you. It would be a good idea to do as your friend says because when you drive the old ones out and the new ones in there is always the possibility of distorting the rod end a bit. So no more than it costs to re-size or true them , I would do it. No need to run the risk of not doing it for the money involved.
