Rod&Custom Budget Beater up for sale...

If anyone reads Rod&Custom you'll probably be familiar with the budget beater build that they featured in many episodes. They tried to build a low cost rod (yea right I couldnt even afford half of that). It was a really nice rod they built but in my opinion they spent too much $$$. Though I always looke forward to reading the articles they didnt really have a lotta tech to them and they missed a lot.
Anyways I found that their rod is on sale on ebay.....

Is that the car The guy was driving on the Rod build off on American Hot Rod were the steering linkage came off? Be sure and stop weld the joints if you buy that!

I wonder who is selling it, they have zero feedback.
Those reserve auctions irritate me. What's the big secret what you want for a car? Why not just start the bidding at your reserve. I mean if someone comes to your house to buy a car with a for sale sign on it you will surely tell him a price won't you.
My guess is it will bog down there since it broke ten grand the bidders now don't know where the next threshold lies.

My gues would be Rizio (past editor). Looking at his "username" and knowing he goes by Riz that would be my best guess. I know he has moved on from R&C recently.

yeah, talk about budget. I wish I could have half of that, not even, make it one third and I'd be happy. They found it really hard to build it for $11K and thought that was cheap they started another project on budget, even though they said they'd make the budget bigger than last time but still keep it traditional . Betcha 5/6 of that car is off the shelf parts.....

For 11 grand you would think they could have bought a couple quarts of paint.. They must have bought new body, frame and everything.

Need to dig out the old mags but I think the engine is a total rebuild, new tires, new wheels, etc. (if I remember right). The article on EBay says "distressed leather-looking interior. I would imagine the leather cost a small chunk-o-change. Not a budget beater in my book.

From what I can remember they bought frame and body off a swapmeet (or similar) for 3-4K. The engine was totally rebuilt with lots of goodies, the tranny was rebuilt, all the suspsnsion components were bought off the shelf too.......of course all of this only if memory serves me right.
