When I inspect the rod and mains what should I be looking for as far as excessive signs of where. I understand the scratches but the part I need to know is if copper is showing dose this mean the bearing need to be replaced. The motor only has about 8000 mi on it but it has been lead footed a lot.

Hi sledneck307, High compression and lead foot will show copper . But if scratches down to copper are metal related then you need new brgs. GOOD LUCK jim
