Rod & Main Bearings - What Kind to Get for BBC
I'm in the process of tearing my piece of junk apart, and I may need Main and Rod bearings. It's a 454 Hi-Perf Street Motor Application
It appears I have standard size main and rod journals. What kind of bearings should I get? Never done this before. Is there a certain brand or material or "type" I should be searching for? I've seen sets of bearings from like $15 up to like $125 - made from different materials and different manufacturers. I don't have a lot of money, so can you please recommend only what is "necessary" not the most expensive all-out-racing bearings please. thanks Lee

For your application any tri-metal type bearing will work.
As for brands. Look for Clevite, Mahle, Fed-Mogul. All are good.
