Rodder's Notebook

Heres a suggestion for everyone who has a project car, whether they bought it ,built it or restored it.
Each of my cars has a small notebook in the glove compartment containing all the build details such as part numbers source of parts ,tune up specs, paint colors and types, etc. This is all info that I know I wont remember 10 years from now,and can save the day if you have the misfortune to break down on the road.Plus,if you track maintenance and repairs in this book, you'll be able to spot recurring problems and deal with them before they occur on a trip.

Thats a great idea. I have a small binder in my garage where I keep EVERYTHING related to my truck. Owners manual, shop manual, tune up specs, pictures (before I took my brakes apart I made a picture of what they looked like so I know how to put em back together, phone numbers of 2 companies I can get parts from here in Canada, my title, TOD (transfer of ownership), my VIN number, where it was built and everything thats on the body tag etc.

Hey nightfire, great idea on the binder. I've been storing most everything in my computer, printing out as needed. Also, if you can, take pictures of things like door plates, vin tags, etc. Every now and then, burn this stuff to a CD, so that you have a backup in case anything happens to your computer.
