or something like, this just dont know what they use when making one and the steering will be upgraded that needs improvement dont like the way that looks maybe have a another bar cross section and attach the steering rod and bracket to that then add gages and key switch etc

What you need to do is order the NHRA rulebook as the roll cages are built to certain specs in order to be considered safe. The first layout you show is about it but then you really need to buy the rulebook to get the correct and current specs so you may be allowed to run the car at the strip.

I can see numerous issues with the design you show in those pics. It will fold like a carboard box without some angle baracing. All your tubes are straight up and down, and the height needs to be above the driver's head too.
Tubing used depends on the diameter. If you run 1.5", then it needs to be .125" wall, and if you run larger it can be thinner. Whatever you use you'll need to have receipts for it with you if it gets tech inspected, so they know you have proof of what you used. I would get a rule book for whatever sanctioning body your vehicle will run in and talk to someone before buying any material, or making and rollcage. |
