Roll down windows with remote

If I got one of the kits that make it where you can control your locks with a remote. Instead of hooking it to the locks could I wire it up to the windows? So say if I hit the lock button one window would roll down but if I hit the unlock button the other window would roll down. I just want to be able to roll them down I don't need them to roll back up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes it would work, but you'd have to hold down the button the entire time, depending on the car. There is a way to put in a timed sircuit ...... way compliced.

Most after market remotes have a aux feature that allows the locks to work as they should and press aux plus unlock allows a diff action to happen. You could add relays to make both windows to roll down at the same time.

If the driver side window has an "auto down" feature, you could get that wndow all the way down w/just one click instead of holding it down the whle time.

unless the auto-down feature is in the switch etc..... that's why it depends on the car.

My 2005 Mustang has the one-touch down feature on both front windows, and it can be controlled by the OEM remote. If I hold the unlock button down on the remote for more than about 4-5 seconds, there is relay that initiates the one-touch feature on both windows and rolls them completely down.

If you have a one-touch down window you should be able to activate it from a spare remote button by using a remote-controlled relay in the circuit to the one touch down feature. On most cars the one-touch down feature is a separate detent on the power window button that requires you to push the button down a little farther.
