roller rocker 1.5 to 1.6
 

I have a hydro flat cam 480/492 228/234 @110. What will going to 1.6 do for me? Will I need new rods? I have full roller rockers 1.5 now (trickflow) and they are loud so thinking of going to comp or crane. My heads will go to a 540 lift.

A .480 camshaft with 1.5 ratio rocker and going to 1.6 would be OK :)

Take .480 and divide by 15 ( 1.5 ) = .032
Then multiply by 16 ( 1.6 ) = .512

It would be like having a camshaft with .512 lift.

I think I would contact Trick Flows Tech dept first,loud being a problem is unusual and needs to be adressed, switching to another brand might be a waste of $$ the gain from upping the ratio won't be noticable anyway.Sometimes increasing ratios can cause pushrod clearance issues requiring some minor machining.Also what valve springs are you running?

Going from .480 lift to .512 is not noticeable? Really?

You won't feel a gain of 4-6 HP,remember you won't be changing the duration at all,only the lift factor.

just check for spring bind etc.
