roller rocker arm question

I have a set of Proform Extruded Aluminmu Roller Rocker Arms. They are1.5 7/16. The part that goes over the stud, and has the poly lock sitting on top of it. One side of the hole is normal, and the other has a small counterbore. I'm thinkning the counterbore is for the poly lock to sit in. Is this correct?

I also have a Crane Hydraulic Cam. 302/500. 246 @ .50. If I want to preset my valves, don't I get the exhaust and intake valve closed, adjust the pushrod until it doesn't move, and give it a 1/2 turn? Is there a better way?

The long duration cam really drives you to winding thru the adjustment in the firing order. There are other means that group certain cylinders together but as cam duration gets longer I've found that these methods don't assure that the lifter isn't on some part of a ramp as opposed to knowing the piston is at TDC firing position and thus both valves are for sure shut.

As for Proform rockers I can't help, don't use any of that Chinese crap too much breakage from what I've seen with other's engines who use that stuff.

The flat part goes up for the poly lock to rest on.
I run a set of proforms and have had no issues however I have heard noting but bad stuff about them. I am changing my cam soon and will be switching to crane rockers and springs.

If yu follow this guide line for adjusting valve lash you can't fog it up.
Bump the motor over with the starter (spark disabled) or by hand and watch the valve on #1 cylinder. When the intake valve opens and just closes ( on seat) set the exhaust valve. turn the motor and watch the exhaust valve. When the ex valve just starts to open, set the intake valve. repeat fot the reast of the cylinders Intake valve closes (on seat) set the exhaust. exhaust valve opens (just) set the intake valve.

oldbogy has theright idea for valve adgust it takes a bit longer but you only do it 1 time. take allthe pluges out get #1 tdc fireing then go threw the fireing order, us a piece os wire to be sur each piston is at the top. do not use the starter ,turn by hand
