**** happened and I did not make it to dad's house.

There was a wreck going the other direction. One of the cars crossed the centerline and I collided with them head on at 45 mph.

I don't have any broken bones or life threatening injuries, but I feel like I was thrown off of a 5 story building and landed in the grass.....I look ok, but everything hurts.

The little red car is screwed.

Glad to hear you're "almost" OK.

Lucky.

I won't comment on the stupid idiot crossing over to your side.

HOLY CRAP! And that little car did just what it was supposed to do, absorb energy to you didn't have to! Look at that LITTLE car, and you are ok! This is an example of what I preach that just because a late model car looks "worse" than an older car in an accident isn't a good thing! The late model car is designed to protect YOU and that little car did a fine job of that.

Hope you feel better today.

Brian

Yep. It was a great little car. It might not have been cool, but it was a great car. It had almost 320,000 miles on it. Lots of good memories from those miles.

That is impressive, glad your OK. I agree with Brian, the car did it's job superb. It is the reason you guys are OK. Sure you will be sore for a few days or weeks, but that is far better than broken bones or lacerations. It took the wife and I almost a year to get over our motorcycle accident in 2001.

Best of luck
Vince

I finally did something! I mounted my front spring.

After a whole lot of looking, I decided the spring belonged close to the front of the crossmember.

The fun started when I tried to figure out how to align the u-bolts. There isn't a straight line on my crossmember to use as a reference point.

Next issue was where the threads were on my bolts. I built a platform under the crossmember to have a nice flat surface to bolt to. The lovely seam down the middle is where I had to advust the hole location on the platform.

Now to remember exactly where I wanted to mount the crossmember.

Here...

...or here (pushed slightly forward)
