[57Corvette]

I was drawn to this photo by Kid Deuce more for the color of the car than the car itself. This is a 1948 Chevy Fleetline and I really like the root beer color combination.

I like that combo myself 57, bet it was a ***** to cut out too, lol. You do a pretty good job on the hair of the women also. I'm too impatient most of the time.

Thanks Mark .. well, this one wasn't as bad to cut out as some I've been working on . really hate spoke wheels. But, I keep getting drawn to those cars.... so, cut away is what I do. Appreciate your looking and comments ...

57, i was looking through some pics andcame across that car in someones "Joe something or another" flikr portfolio. I was looking to see what that tube is on the side of the roof, did a search for fleetline accesories and a different image came up but the same car. I think the closest idea of what it is could be an umbrella holder, for real, they look just like that, lol.

Someone who said he had one said it's an evaporated cooler giving the car some air conditioning. Looks like a bazooka, but I guess it worked pretty well.

hanging on side of window,,UMBRELLA HOLDER??? are you kidding??? man ,,thats the "coolest "thing on the car..really..!!..it's called forced air cooling..early form of a/c..or swamp cooler..works ok ..not as good as a/c.. but nice for naturalistic look..stopped making them when add on a/c systems were invented..getting hard to find and getting kind of pricey.. out here in az. any cool air is wanted..115-117 today.. a/c is still the best..

Thanks for the clarification guys, I kinda thought it would be something like that but it must be rare since it didn't show up in many searches. It is a neat idea, but really an umbrella holder looks alot like it too, lol.

No, I didn't draw this ... it's a photo that I did the artwork on. The period of dress for the woman may be a little before that cars time, but I thought the over-all look worked ok. Thanks for taking a look .........
