ok so it will not operate. explain more on this for me. Will to not operrate at all or can you still run an engine with out the ecm. or will nothing work at all. this one i know has be running over 6 months as it is. up and down sand dunes and in an out of bog holes.

The "electronic" Q-jets that have the mixture solenoid and throttle position sensors can be made to work w/o a computer to control them. But it's not something that lends itself very well at all to use where the vehicle would need to operate under varying throttle settings, like you would use to drive on the street, or on trails, etc. The way it would work best would be for drag racing as an example, where the throttle would be either open or closed, and idle or part throttle use would be limited.

If you want to look at the carb and give us the carb number stamped into the secondary side maybe the carb can be pinned down better as to what it actually is. If I were to guess, I'd say the carb you have is not an electronic version.
