An oval port intake will fit on a round (small port) engine. The port size difference (mis match) should not make much difference performance wise.
You can only get so much air/fuel thru that small intake valve. |

you have what's commonly called the "peanut port" heads, and were designed for heavy duty use, not performance. they do make great torque when matched with the right parts though. unfortuneately, there isn't enough meat there to enlarge them even to the standard size oval ports. although i'm not sure now, i know that the edelbrock performer intakes used to come with really small oval ports that matched up to the peanut port heads pretty good, and could be matched to the larger oval ports if needed. just haven't seen a new one in a few years, so i can't say for sure if they still make them like that or not

Weiand makes one "peanut port" manifold. Their #8017 Action Plus is basically what they call a "high rise" street dual plane manifold. It has a spread bore flange on it but you can easily adapt a square bore carb to this manifold.
It doesn't appear that Edelbrock offers a "peanut port" manifold. It's possible that Offenhauser might have one but I am not sure how you would find out since I have been unable to get my hands on a catalog and they don't seem to have a web site. |

Since it's resurrected anyway, might as well add that there's an intake for the BBC PP heads- Weiand p/n 8122.
