rover 3.9 injection onto a 3.5

Hi all .
I have a 3.9 rover injected motor and the block has a cracked wall behind a liner . Its a common fault with these motors . I have a 3.5 motor which the 3.9 models are originally copied with bigger bores thus less meat in the cylinder walls which is the reason for the failure of so many 3.9 versions . The 3.5s never crack .
Id like to fit the 3.5 up with all the injection gear from the 3.9 ( its a direct fit)
My question is how do you think the mixtures etc etc would be with all the sensors calibrated for the 3.9 .
These injection systems are out of he early nineties .
The injection system is batch fired and does not have calibration calculated by 02sensors . Its all programmed into the computer at preset calibrations to meet the demand .
Theyre a basic injection system relying only on airflow meter , pedal position and air and water temperature sensors and road speed . No knock sensors .

Odd that it doesnt use 02 sensor feedback, but OK. Since it has a Mass air flow sensor it should work fine, at least I think it will. The MAF should keep the mixture correct as it measures the airflow , which is proportional to Cubic inches (or centimeters) .
It may be a tad rich, but if the original injectors for the 3.5 were a smaller GPH rating, you could swap to them to help keep fuel mix under control.
Without a feedback system of some kind you have no adaptive strategy to keep the A/F ratio at 14.7 to 1.
You could also lower the fuel pressure a bit, maybe, to keep the A/F ratio under control, unless it turns out OK from the get go. Chances are you will have to deal with a somewhat rich condition, but a little tweaking should get it running
well. JMHO
