RPM question

Hi. I just discovered this site and have a question. I just purchased a 1973 Nova with a 383 stroker tied to a 700R4 tranny that is supposed to generate 450 HP at the crank. I would like to know what a safe RPM limit would be for this motor. More information on the motor is below:
383 Stroker w/ 4 bolt main
World SR heads 67 cc ~ 10:1 compression
Comp. Cams 268 degree high energy w/ roller rockers
Pete Jackson noisy gear drive
Edelbrock 3701 Performer intake manifold
Summit blueprinted HEI distributor w/ Accel wires
Q-Jet 4 barrel carburetor built by Jet Performance Products
Hedman coated headers w/ A.I.R.
Flowmaster 2 exhaust
Big block 4 row radiator

Thanks

Camshaft and valvetrain dictates when it`ll run out of breath. With that cam it`s just right for a high torque street machine, i`m sure it`s a blast to drive.
The rpm band of that cam if I remember correctly is to about 5500, however, the rest of the valve train, such as the springs and etc. will all play a role as well. if the valve train was set up to match the cam, it`ll be fine to 5500.

Yeah, it's a blast! Everything I can see was done right. But since I don't know about all of the internal workings, I think I'll set the redline on the tach at 5000.

Doc here,

Also, another deciding factor is the ignition system..

a Stock HEI is good to about 5500 RPM.

A Performance HEI is good to about 8500 RPM.

A CDS Ignition is good to right about 10,000 RPM.

Exceeding those points for each makes the spark look like a continual blue flame to combustion..(no rise/fall Time) and can hamper firing of the cylinders.

With the cam and the intake your gonna run out of breath at 5500. If your bottom end is cast you could run it up to 6k on occasion and be ok. Set it at 5500 and go
