28 Chevy street rod, boards are in good shape, just need recovering.

I don't know what is available for these boards, there is probably the exact rubber available. But covering them is something you can do at home. Sand blast and epoxy prime the metal, paint them, then spray adhesive on them and cover with the rubber.

This is a cut to the chase description of course but that is really all there is to it. If you decide to do this post the questions on how to do it here on the forum and we can give you some ideas and help. I haven't done a pair for YEARS (we are talking 35 or so) but I did a pair for a 34 Ford and it wasn't a big deal. It's like putting on a vinyl top, you just glue it down.

And if you don't want to do the actual gluing you can do the prep and then bring it all to an upholstery shop and have them do the actual gluing of the rubber.

I did mine on a 31 . Just used contact cement and clamped the curvy parts with wood molding. Clamped the flat part too with wood. You using trim ?
