quickest way to tell what your engine is doing is to pull the spark plugs
if theyre a light brown color, the engine is running fine, if theyre dark black theyre running a little rich, and if theyre discolored bluish, then youre lean.

you dont have to check them all......BUT the more of them you check the better of an idea you get of how the engine is running.

As lookatme said the more you pull the more you find out. Another thought, if you have a dual plane manifold get some readings from both sides of the motor.

Quickest might be pulling plugs...

but most accurate would be using a wide band o2 sensor to tune the engine. They have come way down in price over the last few years now that they are on more and more production cars. Mine is a 2A0-DIY from www.wbo2.com
