OK listen and learn . Some cars come stock from the factory like this .
You need about 4" from the tank To the 3/8" hard line. The steel line can run all the way to a mechanicals pump , where it can go in solid or use 3 more inches of rubber .
From the pump to the carb you can go solid all the way , that leaves about 5" to play with HA HA ,
Or you can use 2&1/2" from the pump back to hard line and then from the hard line to the carb.
You'll get the idea
