Huffed, some of those rust paints work some don't. there is some good stuff out there thats not to exspensive. I used to use a product I found in the front of a collecter car trader that worked great. Can't remember the name, but will keep looking.

Can you do bodywork? If not I am a body tech and would be happy to walk you through it step by step. send me an e-mail, tell me exactly what the problem is and I'll do everything I can to help

Faust

i've been using rust reformer for about 12 years, it was developed for oil rigs out in the oceansit works well. napa makes a product called rust preventive. about 7 bucks a bottle, it goes a long way. get all the loose scale out, brush or usea rag to put it on, let it dry, scuff it off with 100 grit sandpaer, skim coat with bondo, or primer and spot putty if it's not to bad. a good sealer primer will help keep it from coming back on you. good luck and a speedy recovery for your wife. dan

Get a cheap sandblaster from Harbor Freight. They have one that is a nozzel/gun, hose and probe that sticks into a sack of 20 mesh sand from the lumber yard. Add a rental 3HP and for way under $50 you can clean your bad spots down to bare netal. This is the ONLY way you can be sure to avoid those ugly paint bubbles in the future. The rust stop paints work sometimes, sometimes they don't. Not worth the gamble when it is so cheap & easy to fix right.

I used paint stripper to get rid of all the old paint then rubbed it down with Navel Jelly which is a form of Posphuric (spelled wrong) acid. Then I sanded it and painted it with Zero Rust even over the pitted rust. Zero Rust really kills the rust it wont come back. Check it out at zerorust.com Later!
