rust caused by cats urine
Working on inner and outer fenders of my 55 chevy truck. had both ready to prime. was trying to get more ready when a cat sprayed spots of both fenders. sand blasted spots yesterday but did not prime. this morning went out to find the exact out line of the spots. not rusty but visible. do you know of anything that will neutralize cat urine?

baking soda

Try steel wool, with a phosphoric acid solution. One of the wide men on this board recommends using Ospho to treat bare metal.

At least 1% baking soda in a water solution. Since you sand blasted, I would use a SS wire brush to scrub it good with the solution and rinse well. But that really needs to be done right after the fact, I'm not sure about urine acid, but the fumes of some acids will rust adjacent areas so watch for that.

Cat urine
I agree with the Shotgun. I had a similar mishap a while back when a cat urineated on a pressure plate (clutch). Just about impossible to fix. Good luck whatever you try.

Shotgun is way too expensive I have found my RWS .177 pellet rifle (1100fps)to be deadly.:pain: and very quite.

Cats... Go figure?? Have you ever seen a thread about "post a picture of your cat in your Hot Rod? Yeah, there's a reason for that.
Once the cat uses up its nine lives get a dog. Problem solved. http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/u...20Pickup/1.jpg |

That is a nice gun, if your ever in R.I. maybe we can go shoot a few rounds at my gun club. Lot cheaper to shoot than a 22 or a centerfire.
