No its not.
It must be very minor flash rust for the vinegar to work. Vinegar also works very good on aluminum as an etch/cleaner. However the vinegar must be washed off with water, so plan on coating when washed and blow-dried. |

I have a 67 Cougar I started on, and it was primed with laq.
primer years ago. How many, I don't know. Started sanding the top and it came off pretty easy. Got lots of little pits in the top, so far I expect the rest of the car to be the same. I work at home and I was gonna go get some pool acid to etch it. I had a gallon of white vinager under the sink. I tried it out and it seemed to work pretty darn good. I know this might sound unprofessional, but that's ok. Any advice will be listened to, and welcomed. Thank's KeithP |
