I've gone thru the archives and there seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions. I started working on my 56 210 the other day, pulled out the interior and the rust situation varies between a few areas of the floor pans needing replacement to arees of no rust to a light haze of rust.
Very little of it is bad enough to need sandblasting, so I was planning on a combination of DA sander and wire brushing these areas. The question I have is: would using phosphoric acid be a good or bad idea? I was going to paint all of the underseat/behind door panel areas with Rustolium primer and then flat black Rustoleium afterwards. Would an epoxy primer be better or would it not matter. TIA

Just painting over the rust is not going to stop it, it must first be neutralized with something like Ospho. Personally I would not use anything with the Rustoleum name on it, I think it is highly over rated as far as preventing rust. Once the rust is dead (black), then it can be wire brushed and painted over with epoxy paint.

FYI epoxy paint does not come in a rattle can, no matter what the label says.
