This may be an old trick and if so then sorry for the rant but I needed to remove corrosion on some small aluminum brackets so I poured some Eagle One Mag wheel cleaner(the acid type for rough cast wheels) into a can and dropped them in to soak. This was an old can that had been sitting in the shop for a while and it was quite rusty but after about five minutes I poured out the cleaner to retrieve the parts and the rust in the can was gone, I mean GONE! Have any of you guys used this stuff for this purpose? I then tried it on some rusty sheet metal and found it works a LOT better and faster than any of the gel type removers I have tried. I am not saying that if you spray it on heavy rust that the rust will magically disappear but flash rust is gone instantly and I completely removed some heavier rust with help from a wire brush. Maybe there is some reason not to use this stuff on steel body parts but it sure seems to work good.
