Post rust sucks

yea i have a bunch of rust/rot behind my rear bumper and when i replace that i was wondering if i should just weld out the rust and smooth it out and its also the same thing on my wheel wells from the side molding that the nova has on it ne suggestions?

sheet metal is cheap. cut out anything that even looks like rust and weld in new metal. that's my 2 cents worth.

The problem with rust is if your dont get rid of all of it sooner or later it will come bubbling out of you paint. What I would do is cut out all the rust about 1/2 inch around the rust,weld a mew peice on, then treat bare metal with A rust stoper before painting. If your not painting and you dont want to cut and weld there is this stuff you can buy that advertizes in hotrod mags. thatyou can paint over rust and it will completly seal it out. Its up to you.
